Jonathan, you don't know me but I work at the Central Library across from your gallery and enjoy reading articles about the work you do (and your gallery and the art you display and promote) very much. I discovered Turquoise Mountain while reading Canadian Journalist Sally Armstrong's book about life in Afghanistan. The story around this is amazing. I felt the need to share it with you because of your passion for ceramic art. Turquoise Mountain Arts grew out of the rubble of Kabul in order to recapture Afghanistan's rich artistic tradition after it had been decimated by the Taliban. The man who organized it is a British adventurer and a true hero. I don't know if there is anything practical for you in it, but I thought you would like to know about it and if you were able to bring some of the ceramic art in it would be a fantastic story. Thanks! Jacqui Denomme
